Why we’re walking 💜

Dee’s Village was created from equal parts gratitude, hope and determination.

Almost two years ago, Dee was told she had just 9–12 months to live unless a treatment could be found. Thanks to an incredible clinical trial, she was given more time. Today, she feels healthy, well and able to keep making memories with the people she loves.

She knows how fortunate she is.

Sadly, not everyone gets that chance. This year, Dee’s Village is also walking in memory of our beautiful friend Joy, and for every person and family whose lives have been forever changed by pancreatic cancer.

Like the wider Remember September community, the team will be walking 78km for the 78 Australians who lose their lives to pancreatic cancer every week. Every step and every dollar raised helps fund the research that gives families hope and more time.

Last year, Dee was too unwell to join the walks. This year, she’ll be with us every step of the way.
