This time last year you were still here with us, about to face the fight of your life. You were so brave Jeff and it was so hard to watch you suffer while trying hard to remain positive for your family. We miss you dearly mate, think of you every day. Nothing will ever be the same, without you, makes I realise just how much you meant to Ralph and myself and our kids too.

This September, I’m walking 156km to support my father, Bob, in his fight against pancreatic cancer. Diagnosed in March 2023 with stage 4 pancreatic cancer that had spread to his liver, he has been battling this disease for almost two and a half years now. Your strength and ability to maintain your wicked sense of humour through all of this continues to inspire me. I love you, Dad. Keep fighting. 💜

I am walking in loving memory of my mum, who passed away from pancreatic cancer ten years ago at just 47. At the time, I was 26 and pregnant with my first child. Her diagnosis came suddenly and brutally, three months, they told us. We brought our wedding forward so she could be there, and against every expectation she held on for 18 precious months. Long enough to know she would become a grandmother, but not long enough to meet her granddaughter. Pancreatic cancer is relentless. It takes too many, too young, with too little warning. My mum deserved more time. Every family deserves more time. This walk is for her, for her strength, her humour, her stubbornness, her love. It’s for the moments she missed, and the ones she fought so hard to stay for. It’s for everyone who has faced this disease, and everyone who will. By supporting my walk, you’re helping fund research, early detection, better treatments, and hope. Hope that one day families won’t have to say goodbye so soon. Thank you for standing with me, and for helping keep my mum’s memory walking beside us.
🙂

Thor Beowulf
I lost my husband, Thor, to pancreatic cancer 11 years ago and my family still feels that loss. He was diagnosed at the end of November 2014, after he had his annual blood test for cholesterol and blood sugars. What were thought was some stomach discomfort suddenly became "I'm very sorry this has happened to you." The finality of the doctor's platitude hit us both like an avalanche and I still feel the pang and distress of that day. With hindsight, he would not have gone through chemotherapy as it only robbed him of his favourite activities such as playing his guitars and working on his bonsai collection. It also took away his ability to try and complete his first draft of his PhD he was doing at ANU. He lost feeling in his fingers and toes, needing to wear shoes all the time to protect his feet. He finally passed on August 7, 2015, two weeks short of his 60th birthday. Each year, my four sons and I join together over Zoom to celebrate his birthday - August 25, 1955 - rather than his death to remember the wonderful times shared as a family and the incredible interests he had that inspired us all. Thor, I miss you so much every day and am thankful for the almost 40 years we shared together, a wonderful life with our four sons and a life made so much richer for having you in the heart of it.

My Mum, the bravest person i know battled this cancer in silence until we got a diagnosis. She passed 9 weeks later at home whilst myself and my sisters cared for her and loved her right through to her end here on Earth. I miss her funny little laugh and her words of wisdom. We shared bubbles together, walked together and had lots of talks about anything and everything. We loved playing Scrabble together and she would always come over and help with her expertise in the garden. I miss her alot and wished she could have had more time here with us all. I do know i did not want her to suffer the awful pain Pancreatic Cancer causes. It is a silent killer until too late so i want to help to find a cure earlier on and this fund raiser is going to help others in the future. Miss you always Mum xx
Walking for my dear sister in law who is 12 months in to her fight. She is simply amazing 🩷

You will forever live on in the hearts of our 4 babies 💗
You will be forever missed yet will live on in the hearts of those who love you
Watching my cousin and her family go through losing their nan in less then 3 months after finding out and then the aftermath and years and years of trying to come to grips with what happen, no one should have to go through that. So I'm hoping to raise awareness and hope that soon that number will drop to no one going through this.

We're "Paying it Forward", so grateful for the improvement in treatments & pain relief options that enable her a better quality of life for now at least. We Love Lucy - so very much. 💜🫶

Remembering my lovely dad who succumbed very quickly to pancreatic cancer 5 years ago....love and miss you dad ❤️
Kaity Gee
On the 28th August my dad, Paul Gee, lost his battle to pancreatic cancer. He was able to stop having to fight, and I am sure he was grateful to have both his children holding his hand while that happened. In 2023, my Dad had the term ‘Sisu’ tattooed on his wrist as a personal reminder to himself. Sisu is a Finnish concept that means ‘extraordinary determination, grit, and inner strength in the face of extreme adversity.’ At the time, he did not yet know the adversity that was to come with his diagnosis, but nevertheless he was determined to fight. 28 days prior, his beautiful team at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in SA helped tidy him up and ship him off to see myself and my partner get married. We had such a special day in the sun and I’m forever grateful I had my Dad with me. Attached is one of my favourite photos of the day, sharing a look that said a million words before coming with me down the aisle. I told my dad about what we had already achieved for Remember September in August, and he was so honoured to have a village of beautiful, caring people, working to make our experience of the last year more manageable for others. Dad said “well you’d better get your steps in now”, and I will. Thank you to everyone supporting this mission, Paul Gee would be incredibly chuffed, and proud of every one of you.

— a cause that means more to our family than words can express. Our Dad battled pancreatic cancer, and sadly, he is no longer here with us. We know firsthand the heartbreak this disease can bring. This one’s for Dad. 🕊️ Forever loved, forever missed, and always the reason we keep fighting.
Cheryl
Doing this for all those suffering but mostly for my amazing husband, Dave. He is an absolute legend, getting on with trying to beat this disease and all that goes with it. He inspires me to meet this challenge for him and our boys.
My reasoning for joining in on this movement is because not long ago I lost my grandmother to pancreatic cancer. I couldn't do anything to support her but for my Nan I want to try support anyone else 🫶
Alyssa
My darling Mum. The world is darker since you left us. I love you
