Why I'm Walking 156 km This September
In September 2025, my mum was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer. Just over two months later, on 27 November 2025, she passed away. When she was diagnosed, our family had no resources, no knowledge about this aggressive disease, and no time to process what was happening. It was only after her passing that I discovered PanKind, Pancreatic Cancer Australia, and realised how desperately families need awareness and early detection tools.
This year, I am taking on the Remember September challenge in honour of my beautiful mum. While the standard challenge is 78 km—representing the 78 Australians who tragically lose their lives to pancreatic cancer every single week—I have decided to double it. I am walking 156 km throughout the month of September.
Every step I take is a step my mum can no longer take, and every kilometre represents the urgent need for change. I want to turn our family's pain and lack of answers into a force for good.
Every dollar raised goes directly to PanKind to fund groundbreaking research into early detection and better treatments. Mum deserved a fairer fight. Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.

I am taking on the challenge for my beautiful mumma, Carol Lee Kennedy, she was diagnosed in september 2025. She passed peacefully on the 27th of november 2025. She fought till the last second and i couldnt be more proud to be her daughter. This ones for you mumma 💜💜💜
