Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer
Last year in November Dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, Dad had been working long days in his truck, about to go into a busy wheat harvest, when everything changed overnight for him. It’s been nearly a year of chemo, radiation, a failed whipple surgery and multiple trips from Dubbo to sydney for procedures and long hospital stays since then with more to come.
But as usual, both Dad and Mum are trooping through, and always being the best parents and grandparents, always making time for family and fun when they can.
We didn’t know much about pancreatic cancer before this, but have learnt that the stats show for themselves, that research and treatment in Australia has a long way to go (but is improving!) and that no one deserves to have to go through such a terrible disease! That’s why we’ve signed up for the Remember September challenge to help raise much needed funds.
Dad has gotten into the gym, and is so determined to do everything he can so he’ll do his kms on the exercise bike, and us girls will all be walking to reach our goals of 78kms each!
💜💜💜
Pancreatic cancer is one of the toughest common cancer, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.
Every donation brings us one step closer to a future where pancreatic cancer no longer has such a devastating impact on Australians and their families.
