78 Reasons to Skip My Tea This September
This September, I'm giving up caffeine to honour the 78 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer every week.
I haven't lost anyone to this disease, but the numbers alone are enough to stop me in my tracks. Pancreatic cancer is the toughest common cancer: because early-stage symptoms rarely show up, by the time it's caught, survival rates are devastating. Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed every day, and it's the 3rd biggest cancer killer in the country.
Research is the only thing that can change those numbers. So for one month, no daily cups of tea, no energy drink pick-me-ups between shifts — and I'm asking you to back me instead.
Every donation goes toward groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research and better survival rates for people who don't have time to wait.
It's a small sacrifice on my end. Your support makes it count for something bigger.
We will remember them. We will honour them. We will fight for them.
