This September, ya, I remember. Music nights at Diggers. Karl & Mickey Blue Eyes riding herd. E very week, it became a pilgrimage. Some came to learn; some came to try out new stuff; some came for the camaderie. It was all there in abundance.
When Karl wasn't at Diggers, he was on tour somewhere or at Tamworth Festival, or mentoring at the DAG.
Then came a niggling little back ache that you just work on through....until it gets beyond niggle and the tests come back. And that's how it ends.
Karl is the second friend I've had who has succumbed to this little bugger. And I have a brother in law who survived mainly because they caught it early when looking at and treating a separate back issue.
Bottom line? This is a fight worth having.
We will remember them. We will honour them. We will fight for them.

Go get ‘em John! Walk those 78 km with pride and enthusiasm. Do you remember Rick Able from Earl Grey and Western? He was a good friend of Burt and Mike. He died from this ailment many years ago and at a young age. Good luck with the walk John.
