Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer
This September, I'm walking 78km for the 78 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the toughest common cancer, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.
Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.
But research can change this. Your support will fund groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.
So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 78km to fight this terrible disease.
Please make a donation to support me, and together...
We will remember them. We will honour them. We will fight for them.

Great job Thinus and Welma

This is my third year supporting this important campaign, which began in honour of my husband, Thinus, following his pancreatic cancer diagnosis in July 2024. As his wife, I have experienced the fear, uncertainty and heartbreak that comes with this disease. As a nurse, I also encounter patients living with pancreatic cancer and witness the impact it has on them and the people who love and care for them. Thinus recommenced chemotherapy in April 2026 following a recurrence, fortunately limited to the original area. His most recent PET scan was clear, allowing his treatment to be adjusted. We are incredibly grateful for every day and every moment of hope. I fundraise for Thinus, for those still fighting, for those who have lost their lives, and for those who never had the chance to fight. I also do this for the families and carers walking this difficult journey alongside their loved ones. **For Thinus. ** For every patient. ** For every family. ** For hope.**
