Challenge days complete!
I’m giving up alcohol this September for my mum 💜
Mum was only 54 when pancreatic cancer took her from us. She didn’t even make it to her 55th birthday, which is something that will never feel fair.
There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about her or talk about her. So much has changed since we lost her and there are still so many times I just want to pick up the phone and tell her something, ask her advice, or just hear her voice.
Anyone who knew Mum and me will know we loved a glass together 🍷😂 We had some of our best chats over a drink, putting the world to rights and having a laugh. So giving up alcohol for the whole of September feels like the perfect challenge in her memory — and if you know me, you’ll know it really is going to be a challenge!
I know Mum would be laughing at me attempting it, but I also know she’d be my biggest supporter, telling everyone she knew to sponsor me.
I would give absolutely anything to have one more glass with her.
So this September, I’m putting mine down for Mum and raising as much as I can for pancreatic cancer research, in the hope that one day other families get more time with the people they love.
The world really is a little darker without you, Mum. This one’s for you. 💜
