Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer
This September, I'm walking 78km for the 78 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.
This is a cause very close to my heart as this cruel cancer took my dad from us last year.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the toughest common cancer, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating. The only symptoms my dad showed was a loss of appetite in July last year, tests were done and in August we were told there is a cancerous mass. In September it was confirmed that dad had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Our world was turned upside down. Prognosis was 6 months. Dad only made it to 2.5 months. A healthy 82 year old was gone in such a short space of time.
Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.
But research can change this. Your support will fund groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.
So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 78km to fight this terrible disease.
