Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer
My Dad Fred was the kind of person who made the most of every moment. He was strong, driven and always ready for the next adventure. He always pushed himself to step outside his comfort zone and challenged us to do the same. He had a joke for absolutely every occasion (appropriate or otherwise!) and we would always hear the sound of country music blasting from his car or home speakers. My most treasured memories are when we would sit down and have long talks where we would discuss life, business, music and kids.
He was a deeply passionate man who lived life with energy, humour and purpose. His presence filled a room, and his absence has left an enormous void in our lives.
A year on, I still can’t believe he’s not here. I miss him every day but I feel him everywhere in the lessons he taught me, the courage he gave me and the way I choose to live my life.
During the month of September I have pledged to walk 78km for the Remember September challenge. I am fundraising in Dad’s memory and to help support the fight against pancreatic cancer. Any donation big or small would mean the world to me and help honour Fred's life and others that have lost the battle and stand with those impacted by pancreatic cancer.
Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.
