Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer
This September, I'm walking 78km for the 78 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the toughest common cancer, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.
Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.
But research can change this. Your support will fund groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.
So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 78km to fight this terrible disease.

My late Husband's and my world turned up side down August 30 2022. We had just finished cleaning one of our homes ( we were house cleaners). Mark told me that he wasn't feeling well. We thank goodness where not to far from home. So when we got home he went straight to bed. I had to call the Locum Dr out to him as he couldn't even lift his head of his pillow. The Locum told us that Mark had a virus. I thought good a few days in bed and fluids he'd be fine. He wasn't getting any better. I managed to get him in to see a GP. We were with her for a good solid hour. With her really not finding anything wrong with him. Until she did the birdy test on him. Thats when we received the devastating news that Mark had actually had a stroke. So off to the Hospital we went. Fathers Day September 4th was another MASSIVE blow to us. My darling Husband has 3 types of Cancer. Pancreatic, Lung and Liver Cancer. After a week in the Hospital. He was allowed to come home. Then exactly 2 weeks later Mark sadly had another stroke. This much worse then his first. Rehabilitation this time. I had to learn how to become his full time Nurse/carer for him. Not that I minded. He was my Husband and that's I signed up for when we said our Marriage vowes to each other. My beautiful husband succumbed to his sickness 9 days shy of his 56th Birthday. December 2nd 2022. Im so grateful that it was short and that he did not linger in Hospital. This is my 4th year funding raising for this course.
