Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer
As many of you know, I lost my mum to pancreatic cancer on 22 November 2024.
This September, I’m walking 78 km for the 78 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the toughest common cancers. Because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes noticeable symptoms, it is often diagnosed too late, and the survival rates remain devastating.
Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every single day. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.
But research can change this. Your support will help fund groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research, improve early detection, develop more effective treatments and improve survival rates.
So this September, I’m challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 78 km to fight this terrible disease.
I also want to be honest that this will be a genuine challenge for me. I’m currently juggling full-time TAFE study, work, parenting, running a household and continuing to manage Mum’s estate. I also live with lipedema and mast cell activation syndrome, which can cause significant pain, swelling, hives and intense itching, particularly when I exercise. Completing these kilometres will require careful planning, antihistamines and plenty of determination.
I’m not sharing this for sympathy, but because I have deliberately chosen something that will push me. Living with these conditions can be challenging — but it does not compare to facing pancreatic cancer, enduring its treatment or losing someone you love to this devastating disease. Mum and every other person affected by pancreatic cancer will be my reason to keep walking, even on the difficult days.
I would be eternally grateful for any donation, big or small, to support me and, more importantly, to support those affected by pancreatic cancer. Every contribution will help fund research into earlier detection and effective treatments while honouring my mum — my boys’ Nanna — and everyone whose life has been touched by this cruel disease.
Together, we will remember those who have lost their lives. We will honour them. We will fight for them.

Sunday 2nd Aug I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated and supported my Remember September challenge so far 💜 I only registered recently and have been completely blown away by the support I’ve received so far. Every donation, message and share genuinely means so much to me! Thank you for helping me honour my mum and the many others who are sadly affected by this awful disease, raise awareness and support research into earlier detection and more effective treatments. My beautiful Mum, Chris, passed away on 22/11/2024 after an 11 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer. This cruel disease robbed her and our family of so much and I miss her terribly. I’ll be walking 78kms in her honour. I have deliberately chosen something that will push me. I live with chronic conditions, Lipodema & MCAS which makes exercise extremely challenging — but it does not compare to facing pancreatic cancer, enduring its treatment or losing someone you love to this devastating disease. My Mum and every other person affected by pancreatic cancer will be my reason to keep walking, even on the difficult days. I'm grateful to be a part of Remember September and support those affected by pancreatic cancer, to honour my mum, and everyone whose life has been touched by this cruel disease. Together, we will remember them. We will honour them. We will fight for them 💜
