I'm Moving It this September to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer!
This September, I'm walking 68km for the 68 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.
I want to honour beautiful people I have known who left us too soon, Jukka, Brian, Lou, to name just a few.
I am also walking to honour the people like me who are living with pancreatic cancer, buoyed by the wonderful people I have met since diagnosis who continue to support and inspire me.
September is my birthday month, this challenge is a timely reminder to remember all those who have not had the chance to celebrate another birthday.
Pancreatic cancer is now the 3rd biggest cancer killer of Australians, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.
If you are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer tomorrow, there is only an 12.2% chance you'll be alive in 5 years.
But research can change this. Your support will fund life-saving pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.
So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 68km, and I am challenging you to join me.
