Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer

This September, I'm walking 78km for the 78 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the toughest common cancer, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.

Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.

But research can change this. Your support will fund groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.

So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 78km to fight this terrible disease.

I'm walking 78km with Fred to honour my wonderful mother-in-law Rae. After a valiant fight she left us 12 years ago. Always in our hearts. Her love still surrounds us. 💞

Wednesday 16th Sep
What a glorious morning for a walk along the Wynnum foreshore. Even at low tide this place is a joy to walk and meet locals especially ones with furry friends for Fred to meet.

Tuesday 15th Sep
New walking route this morning brought me up beside this gorgeous water catchment. Ducks and water fowl couldn't distract Fred from his mission of finding new trees! 😂

Being back in suburban Brisbane is not so bad when an early morning walk lets us greet new friends. Still enjoying beautiful spring weather!

A bit different walking the suburban streets from walking over the Kingaroy property. Still, am thankful we are physically able to do it. Enjoying the beautiful spring weather.

Goodbye kingaroy

Tuesday 8th Sep
A sad day today as we say goodbye to Kingaroy and family. Have so enjoyed our early morning walks here and will miss the birdlife, kangaroos, goannas, horses and cattle. Fred is going to have to get reacquainted with his lead and suburban smells. 😂

Just a tease!

Monday 7th Sep
Cloudy skies over Kingaroy this morning proved to be just a tease. Sadly they had gone by the time Fred and I (and support crew) returned from our early morning walk. We say good-bye to Kingaroy tomorrow and return to city life and a whole different style of walking. Fred will be disappointed to be back on lead I have no doubt, and I will be sad to say goodbye to my family but we'll readily slot into a routine again I'm sure. 🚶‍♀️🐕‍🦺😊

Missed yesterday due to an unscheduled babysitting gig and it was too hot at 31° to do it later. Back at it today though for our second last day in Kingaroy.

Another beautiful spring morning to go for a walk here in Kingaroy. I feel a bit guilty taking so much pleasure in the perfect weather when rain is so desperately needed.

Even if my T-shirt is far too big I am so fortunate to be starting this challenge on a 4000 acre cattle property in Kingaroy. Fred can walk off lead and has one enormous ablution block at his disposal. 😂 Too many choices!
