Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer
I am walking to raise funds for pancreatic cancer, in memory of my Dad - Phil Thomas, who lost his battle with this disease in 2022.
Pancreatic cancer is the 3rd leading cause of cancer deaths in Australia and is expected to shortly become the 2nd leading cause of cancer deaths behind lung cancer.
Pancreatic cancer is infamously hard to treat and is often referred to as the ‘silent killer’ as most patients don’t experience symptoms until the cancer has metastasised and spread to surrounding organs. Unfortunately, treatments have made little progress over the last 50 years as a result of limited funding.
I will be walking during Remember September to raise funds for PanKind - the only foundation in Australia exclusively dedicated to pancreatic cancer, who’s mission is to triple the survival rate of pancreatic cancer by 2030, improving on the current 5-year survival rate of just 12%.
Please support me as we endeavour to improve survival rates by raising much needed funds for research into Pancreatic Cancer. Together we can improve the prognosis for those currently living with the disease and provide hope for those who are diagnosed in future.
