In Dad’s Memory 💜
My Dad, Jody, was a man who wore many hats throughout his life and embraced every challenge with enthusiasm. He loved his sport, his hobbies and the many adventures life brought his way, but above all else, he loved his family.
Dad came across as a big, tough, macho kind of guy, but underneath it all was the biggest softy with an even bigger heart. He was the kind of person who would have given you the shirt off his back without a second thought.
This September, I’ll be walking 78km in Dad’s memory and raising much-needed funds for a cause that is now incredibly close to my heart.
When Dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, it was already too late. We were given just six short weeks with him after his diagnosis. Six weeks to process the news, say our goodbyes and try to make the most of the precious time we had left together.
It simply wasn’t enough. 💔
Pancreatic cancer is one of the toughest cancers to detect early, and that needs to change. I’m passionate about raising awareness and funds to help make earlier detection possible, so that other families may have more time with the people they love.
I’m walking these 78km for Dad — for his memory, for our family, and for all the families who deserve more time. 💜

I’m walking to raise funds and in memory of my Dad, Jody. He was only 57 and passed within 6 weeks of being diagnosed.
