Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer

This September, I'm walking 75km for the 75 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week. Especially my piano teacher who has a family member recently diagnosed.

Pancreatic cancer is the toughest common cancer, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.

Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.

But research can change this. Your support will fund groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.

So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 75km to fight this terrible disease.

Hello, I’m Amy from Noosa Sea Scouts and I am challenging myself for an SIA and SDG this September and attempting to help others by doing so. 
 
I’m walking 75km to raise funds for PanKind and to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer. I’m dedicating my challenge to support Rob, my piano teacher’s family, after his sister’s diagnosis. Pancreatic cancer is rarely found in time to make a difference with treatment, and many families find themselves with little time to create a lifetime of memories. My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and leukaemia when I was 6 so I know what it’s like to have someone you love diagnosed and told they might die. Thankfully she was in the percentage who survived the cancer, but she still lives with leukaemia and will for the rest of her life. I want to help people with pancreatic cancer because they don’t get the same privilege of having any chance of survival that people with breast cancer have, and I want to try help towards finding a way for them to have that chance too.
