Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer
Next month, I’m taking part in PanKind’s Remember September challenge and I’ll be walking/running 75km x2 in memory of my beautiful mum Linda Jakobs, who we heartbreakingly lost to pancreatic cancer only 8 weeks after she was diagnosed.
Pancreatic cancer is the toughest common cancer. Early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, which means most people, like Mum, are diagnosed too late. Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed every day, and sadly, 75 Australians lose their lives to this disease each week. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in our country.
I don’t want other families to go through what we did. That’s why I’m walking to honour Mum, to raise awareness, to help improve early detection, and to give more families hope for better survival chances.
Together, we will remember them. We will honour them. We will fight for them.
