IN MARLON'S MEMORY -- Support our challenge to end pancreatic cancer

This September, we're walking 78km for the 78 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week. And we are walking it for our beloved friend, Marlon Amper, who we lost to Pancreatic Cancer in July 2026 at only 43 years old.

Some people have a way of making the world feel lighter simply by being in it. Marlon was one of those people.

Marlon was an amazing and hard-working Clinical Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Consultant, but to those who knew him best, he was funny, kind and had an incredible ability to make everyone around him smile. His laughter was infectious, his heart was generous, and his presence lit up every room he walked into. One of the many things people loved most about Marlon is how he never missed an opportunity to brighten someone’s day, always greeting people with a smile and making sure to tell them they look fabulous. It was such a simple gesture, but it was so uniquely Marlon.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the toughest common cancer, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.

Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.

But research can change this. Your support will fund groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.

So this September, we're challenging ourselves to get up, get moving and walk 78km to fight this terrible disease.
