I'm Moving It this September!
2.5 years ago, I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is the 3rd deadliest cancer in Australia, with a 5 year survival rate of only 11.5%. My Dad fought as hard as he could for 18 months, but despite numerous attempts at treatments and surgeries, it was a fight he couldn’t win. Those 18 months were so hard on me, watching my dad, the life of the party (anyone who knew him can attest to this) endure pain and suffering I wouldn’t wish upon anybody.
Over the month of September, I will be walking 63kms in honour of the 63 people who die every week from pancreatic cancer in Australia. I will be raising money for Pankind, the only foundation in Australia that aims to increase the survival rates and quality of life for those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. 🤍
