Steps That Matter: Walking to Fight Pancreatic Cancer

This September, I’m walking 225km in honour of the 75 Australians who lose their lives to pancreatic cancer every single week.

Pancreatic cancer is now the third biggest cancer killer in Australia. It’s often silent in its early stages, making it incredibly hard to detect - and tragically, that means far too many lives are lost before there’s even a chance to fight.

Right now, if you’re diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, there’s only a 13% chance you’ll survive the next five years. That’s not just a statistic - that’s someone’s parent, partner, sibling, best friend. It’s heartbreak, over and over again.

But we can change this. With more research, more funding, and more awareness, we can improve early detection, develop better treatments, and give more families hope.

So this September, I’m taking on a personal challenge: walking 225km to honour every life lost, to stand beside those still fighting, and to raise much-needed funds for ground-breaking pancreatic cancer research.

Please, if you’re able, donate to support this important cause. Every step I take will be in memory of those we’ve lost, in support of those still fighting, and in hope for a future where this disease no longer takes so many.

We will remember them. We will honour them. We will fight for them.
