Support my challenge to fight pancreatic cancer
Dad was loved by all, he could light up a room when he walked in, he knew everyone and had a joke for any occasion. Last year we lost Dad to Pancreatic Cancer, he had a short hard battle with this terrible illness. I want to raise awareness and money to help with research as little is known about this cancer that affects so many lives.
If you could spare some change to go towards helping find a treatment for this horrible cancer, maybe we can help to change the way things are currently done and increase the chance of surviving and detecting it.
This September, I'm walking 71km for the 71 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week and also walk in honour of my father Denis Guest who was taken from us too soon.
Pancreatic cancer is now the 4th biggest cancer killer in Australia, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.
If you are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer tomorrow, there is only a 12.5% chance you'll be alive in 5 years.
But research can change this. Your support will fund life-saving pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.
So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 71km to fight this terrible disease.
