Support our challenge to end pancreatic cancer
This September, we're walking 75km for Paul Johnston and the 75 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.
Paul was a wonderful family man with a big heart. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle and friend to many who loved him. Paul was also a teacher who was passionate about education and improving the lives of young people. He loved politics, fishing and sport especially his favorite football team the Magpies.
In June 2024, at just 67, Paul was taken way too young by pancreatic cancer. He is missed by many. So, our Maggies Team will walk to honor his memory and improve the outcomes of others suffering from pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic cancer is the toughest common cancer, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.
Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.
But research can change this. Your support will fund groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.
So this September, we're challenging ourselves to get up, get moving and walk 75km to fight this terrible disease.
