Support my challenge to fight pancreatic cancer
This September, I'm walking 75km for the 75 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.
Pancreatic cancer is now the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.
If you are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer tomorrow, there is only a 13% chance you'll be alive in 5 years.
But research can change this. Your support will fund ground-breaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.
So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 75km to fight this horrible disease and bring some hope to what can often seem like a very hopeless situation.
As extra motivation and significance, 75km just happens to be the distance between home and the Shoal Bay Country Club so that's where I'll be heading! I couldn't think of a more meaningful 75km walk to honour Peter's memory and the challenge that is pancreatic cancer!
My plan is to spread the walk across the first 2 weekends in September, finishing at the Country Club on Sunday 14th.
