Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer

This September, I'm walking 75km for the 75 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.

Pancreatic cancer is the toughest common cancer, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.

Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.

But research can change this. Your support will fund groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.

So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 75km to fight this terrible disease.

Please make a donation to support me, and together...

We will remember them. We will honour them. We will fight for them.

My Updates

Day 10 caught in the rain

Wednesday 10th Sep
very short walk before the rain soaked us.

Day 8 busy

Monday 8th Sep
busy today seeing the opthamologist, checking health insurances and niece visiting so only a quick loop and a half of the oval.

Day 7 wadmore park

Sunday 7th Sep
lovely sunny afternoon and a stroll through Wadmore Park to Addison Avenue and then a faster pram ride home. I’m pooped.

Day 6 community garden

Saturday 6th Sep
pooped after a workout at the community garden and a loop of the park with the dogs. hopefully by the end of the month I will be fitter! starting back on vitamin b shots this week too. age is a blessing that comes with its own challenges! I remind myself on these walks my fortune in getting older.

Day 5 wild and windy

Friday 5th Sep
today was such a windy day and I had 3 U3A meetings so it was a quick walk that was like being blown around the block.

Day 4

Thursday 4th Sep
a relatively easy day to get up my steps as I needed to do the supermarket shopping and a few errands. finished with a lap of the oval.

Day 3 challenging

Wednesday 3rd Sep
I did 3km today but busy seeing people put up their 10-20km walks is a bit overwhelming. it is making me be more mindful about the blessings I have and the challenges facing so many people each week.

Day 2 blossom walk

Tuesday 2nd Sep
Tuesdays are tough as after 90 minutes of Tai Chi I’m a bit pooped but we did a 2 park walk to clock up our steps and the sun was shining.

Day 1 getting started.

Monday 1st Sep
well I only just made my minimum daily distance today of 2.5km but the sun was shining. It felt like at least 3km but maybe the plum and apple crumble for afternoon tea made the going tougher!
