Pancreatic cancer took my mum too soon.
This September, I'm walking 75km for the 75 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week and to honour my mum, Barbara, who died in 2002 at the age of 69 years. Far too young. She was given 3 months to live from diagnosis. She told us and the medical profession that she had too much to do, to die that soon. She lived 14 months and died on September 7th to rejoin our Dad, her soul mate on their Wedding Anniversary.
Pancreatic cancer is the toughest common cancer, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.
Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.
But research can change this. Your support will fund groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.
So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 75km to fight this terrible disease.

we lost mum to Pancreatic cancer 14 months after diagnosis. Longer than most but too soon for us as a family. It was a privilege to nurse her to the end, and so blessed she had a gentle passing at home. love you mum.xx
