Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer
Last weekend, I went to the footy with my son, where they were raising money for breast cancer support networks. There were free caps and beanies, the crowd was a sea of pink, and there were QR codes everywhere to encourage donations. In one day, $152,000 was raised, it was a wonderful display of how the generosity of the public can support such a worthwhile cause.
Two years ago next month, my beautiful mum, Angeline, passed away from pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is only the eighth most common cancer in Australia, but the mortality rate is the third highest. That day at the footy, it struck me how little we hear about support and research on pancreatic cancer, and I decided to join Remember September to raise money for pancreatic cancer research.
This September, I'm walking 225km for the 75 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week. Pancreatic cancer is the toughest common cancer, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.
But research can change this. Your support will fund groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.
Please make a donation to support me, and together...
We will remember them. We will honour them. We will fight for them.
