Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer
Last year, I lost my Dad to this horrible cancer, only 5 days after his diagnosis. Turning off Dad's life-support and holding him during his final moments was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. A piece of me left this world with him.
Why did Dad only have 5 days between diagnosis and death? Because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, making survival rates devastating.
Dad had no symptoms, until it was too late.
This September, I'm walking 75km for the 75 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.
With no national screening and no early-onset symptoms, it is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.
But research can change this. Your support will fund groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates. Pankind is the only Australian cancer charity focussed entirely on pancreatic cancer. Funds raised will go towards research grants.
Every step I take is for Dad. Every step is for Bernie.
