I have really started to move it so far this September

I have completed 72km of my pledge to walk 136km for  the 68 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week. 

Pancreatic cancer is now the 3rd biggest cancer killer of Australians, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.

If you are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer tomorrow, there is only an 12.2% chance you'll be alive in 5 years.

But research can change this. Your support will fund life-saving pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.

So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 136 km, twice what I walked last year.

Please make a donation to support my challenge and help fund life-changing pancreatic cancer research.  If we can crack an early diagnosis tool how good would that be.

I reached my goal of 136km yesterday plus a couple more. Goal reached.
Between you all, family and friends, you have contributed $979 towards research  into pancreatic cancer. My original target was $480, so you have absolutely smashed it. Target exceeded!!
So a huge thank you to you all, for your support, encouragement and generous donations to RememberSeptember fundraiser.
I will continue my usual walking regime, but will sign up again in 2024 for another 136km (no more than that).

I am almost there and still moving it with 9 days to go

Family and friends, here is my second last update. I have 24 km to go to reach my pledged target of 136 km. This morning was a glorious walk through the Botantic Gardens and just after a sun shower a rainbow formed, fleetingly, over the Lake. Maybe it was our loved ones saying good morning to us and to thank all of you who have so generously donated to the RememberSeptember fundraiser for research into pancreatic cancer. As I have said before, in the short term, finding a tool for early diagnosis would be a huge step. That alone would give those diagnosed some more time.
I can’t thank those enough, who have donated to get me to $909 so far, and to thank everyone for your support and good wishes over the past 3 weeks.  I expect that I will exceed the 136km.
Until  next update on 30 September,  I will keep moving.
