I'm Moving It this September!
This September, I'm walking 68km a week for the 68 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer- 5 more a week than last year!
So this time last year Varlea and I signed up for the Remember September walk and I committed to walking 63ks a week for 4 weeks. 63 for the number of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each week-our dad being one of them. We walked for him as we watched the cancer take over. Little did we know that just three days later on the 3rd of October he would pass and become yet another cancer statistic- 7 out of 10 who will not survive one year after a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. So this year we walk again to remember our dad, to remember his kindness and care, to remember the good times and especially to remember his grace at all times even in those final hours. We love you, dad.
