Support my challenge to fight pancreatic cancer

In honour of our Zio Emilio.

Back in 2017, we lost a very special family member our Zio Emilio.

Visiting him at RPA hospital, I told him that I was due to have my baby in a few weeks time at RPA and because he was receiving care there, there was no excuse for him not to be the first visitor, I told him to take the lift up to visit us.

Sadly we lost him within that week but I did feel his presence, watching over us when our daughter was born, I remember being in the delivery room and I just kept hearing his voice over and over in my head "You can do it, you'll be fine!" like some magical force that was unexplainable.

This devastating loss had a massive impact on our family and not a day goes by that we don't think of him.

One of his favorite sayings was to "look at the credibility of a person" I'd like to think I'm a credible person and with this in mind I do this for you Zio Emilio, others that have passed & those still fighting.

This September, I'm walking 75km for the 75 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.

Pancreatic cancer is now the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.

If you are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer tomorrow, there is only a 13% chance you'll be alive in 5 years.

But research can change this. Your support will fund ground-breaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.

So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 75km to fight this terrible disease.
