I'm Moving It this September!

This September, I'm walking 204km for the 68 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week. 

Pancreatic cancer is now the 3rd biggest cancer killer of Australians, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating. My late mother-in-law Daphne suffered for just two months from diagnosis to passing back in 2011. 

If you are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer tomorrow, there is only an 12.2% chance you'll be alive in 5 years.

But research can change this and the rates are improving. New treatments are being created which are improving both life expectancy and quality of life for those enduring this terrible disease so lets help the research teams press on!

So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 204km.

Bit of a blip today...

Wednesday 20th Sep
Managed to come down with flu symptoms but still travelling towards the goal!  Thanks to everyone who has contributed and enabled us to exceed my initial target

Halfway there...

Friday 15th Sep
Well, here it is, the middle of September (well, technically at midnight tonight) and we have made it to 108km or half the challenge.

Thanks to everyone who is supporting me financially or in prayer - hopefully we are making a difference to enable more research - and breakthroughs - in relation to this disease.

While it is only one of the many challenges we face here on earth - the most critical one being our relationship to God! - it is nevertheless important to tackle among all the others.
