Move It

My Activity Tracking

My target 63 kms

I'm Moving It this September!

This September, I'm walking 63km for the 63 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.

Pancreatic cancer is now the 3rd biggest cancer killer of Australians, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.

If you are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer tomorrow, there is only a 10% chance you'll be alive in 5 years.

But research can change this. Your support will fund life-saving pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.

So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 63km.

Please make a donation to support my challenge and help fund life-changing pancreatic cancer research.

Day 30

Thursday 30th Sep
What a joy September has been 💜 I have loved the many walks I have taken as I clocked up 160km for Pan Kind.
Thanks to my friends for joining me, lockdown restrictions didn’t stop us!! We discovered many gems within our 5km but most of all we deepened friendships and I am deeply grateful to have all of you in my life.
As Dad’s first anniversary approaches, I am comforted to know I have done something positive in his memory. To my friends and family who have donated, I thank you with all my heart,💜💜 Dad loved life, he was a master storyteller and friend to many….he is always in my heart 💜

Day 11

Saturday 11th Sep
Glorious sunshine made the walk today all the more enjoyable 💜
Thanks Imelda for stepping it out with me again today!! 💜💜

We came across a beautiful flower memorial on the harbour foreshore walk in memory of the ten Australians who died in the 9/11 attack and stopped to remember them. 🙌🏻

I am so grateful for the walks that I have taken in the company of great friends this Steptember💜 This has been a great opportunity to hear life stories that we haven’t shared before, thanks girls…Covid lockdown hasn’t been all bad!!! 💜💜💜

Day 5 Father’s Day

Sunday 5th Sep
Someone said that those you love in heaven are always with you and I like to keep that one front of mind when I’m out walking.

Today I walked through the Botanic Gardens with my friend Imelda and we actually took time to stop to smell the flowers and educate ourselves on the varieties while marvelling  at their beauty…Dad loved gardens, flowers, nature and took great delight in the garden he and mum created and cared for…,it’s no coincidence we ended up in the Botanic Gardens today in the magic of nature and being surrounded by vibrant colours and spring growth.

I did have a cry this evening and that’s ok, it was just a little outlet for the love in my heart for you Dad….I know you’re with me always 💜💜💜

Day 2

Thursday 2nd Sep
I found day 1 very emotional, I took time out during my walk to sit next to the water and think of dad and how he loved doing just that…sitting with his back to the sand dunes and watching the seabirds. I had a good cry before getting back up and walking.
Crying is as good as a good belly laugh!

Thank you to my Sponsors
