Move It

My Activity Tracking

My target 126 kms

I'm Moving It this September! Twice!

This September, the challenge is to walk 63km for the 63 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.  In the past, we've also simultaneously done things like given up coffee, but I haven't restarted drinking coffee since the last time I gave it up.  Instead, I'm just going to do the MOVE IT challenge TWICE for a total of 126km.

I'm walking to remember Tino Scasserra, our friend and colleague who was both an extraordinary lawyer and a perfect 10 on the Tino Scale Of Niceness(TM).

Pancreatic cancer is now the 3rd biggest cancer killer of Australians, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.

If you are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer tomorrow, there is only an 11.5% chance you'll be alive in 5 years.

We've seen some great advances in improving this statistic over the last 5 years, due to local and international life-saving pancreatic cancer research, but there's still much more we can do.

So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 63km in the month - and then I'm going to get up again and walk another 63km.

Please make a donation to support my challenge and help fund life-changing pancreatic cancer research.

I'm sorry I can't join the challenge this year but very happy to support it and the memory of Tino. Happy walking!
