Support my challenge to fight pancreatic cancer

This September, I'm walking 100km for the 71 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week, in memory of my Nanny, June Wilson.  Once diagnosed, it wasn't long before she gained her Angel wings and is now watching over us.

Pancreatic cancer is now the 4th biggest cancer killer in Australia, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.

If you are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer tomorrow, there is only a 12.5% chance you'll be alive in 5 years.

But research can change this. Your support will fund life-saving pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.

So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 100km to fight this terrible disease.

Please make a donation to support me, and together...

We will remember them. We will honour them. We will fight for them.

Walk number 3!

Wednesday 11th Sep
I am a little behind already in my walking.  I was planning on walking 5km for each work day and then using the weekends to catch up if needed, but I was sick for a portion of this month already.  So, 11 days in, here we are trying to catch up!

Did a 5km walk tonight on my treadmill, while trying to fend off my 5 month old Westie, who kept trying to walk with me.  Not a good idea mate; he did get up on the belt and then tried to walk but took a tumble at the end because it was going too fast!  Eventually he got picture and just chilled on the couch with his sister.

15km down.  85km to go!  Love you Nanny. <3

Walking with Westies

Thursday 5th Sep
Tonight I did a small walk with my crazy Westies. Walking 2 under 12 months is not an easy feat. We also weren’t using our normal leads so they were not behaving well but we got there!

First walk for the month!

Wednesday 4th Sep
The wind had died down and the rain stopped, here in Melbourne.  I had locked myself out of my office for the morning, so it was a good 8km walk around the CBD and Docklands to get the first kms in my legs.
