My target 63 kms

I'm Moving It this September!

This September, I'm walking 63km for the 63 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.

Pancreatic cancer is now the 3rd biggest cancer killer of Australians, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.

If you are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer tomorrow, there is only an 11.5% chance you'll be alive in 5 years.

But research can change this. Your support will fund life-saving pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.

So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 63km.

Please make a donation to support my challenge and help fund life-changing pancreatic cancer research.

Made it

Saturday 10th Sep
Well after a great night sleep I’m ready to tackle the 32km back into town, replicating dads last ride into the hospital to start palliative care.
There were lots of emotions today knowing that 3 years ago this was the end for dad.
I am so proud of all those that have supported me by donating or encouraging me along the way.
I hope the funds we have all raised can somehow improve the diagnosis of this terrible disease.

My Walk

Thursday 8th Sep
I have had to change the way I am doing my walk I was planning to do it in one day, and yes I know it’s a long way.

Unfortunately due to the rain I am splitting my walk into two days.

I will leave Narromine to walk past the ambulance station and head out to the farm where the ambulance picked up dad to return him to hospital to start his palliative care.

The farm is about 32 km from town and tomorrow Friday, 9 September I will embark on this first leg.

On Saturday I will return from the farm to town via the hospital the church and the cemetery to pay my respects to my dad.

This will complete my pledge to walk 63 km to raise money for this insidious disease.

Wish me well , a massive big thank you to all who have supported by a donation thank you again
