Support my challenge to end pancreatic cancer

This September, I'm walking 75km for the 75 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.

Pancreatic cancer is the toughest common cancer, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.

Right now, 12 Australians are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every day. It is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia.

But research can change this. Your support will fund groundbreaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.

So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 75km to fight this terrible disease.

Please make a donation to support me, and together...

We will remember them. We will honour them. We will fight for them.

What a day!

Saturday 6th Sep
I wanted to do the Spit to Manly walk for a while. Got the train to Milson's Point and then a bus to the Spit Junction at Mosman on Military Road. Had to walk 2kms to the Spit Bridge for the start of the walk. Barely a few hundred metres into the track and i put my back pack down so i could take off my jacket. My bag rolled down an embankment about 5m and i could see it but couldn't get it. Rang Marine Rescue and they sent a rescue boat over but they couldn't get it from the water. They suggested calling the SES but they said ring Police. Police rang but someone died from a shark attack and their resources were at capacity, so they are called SES. SES said they can't get it. Cue tears after hanging up from them. Ended up walking back to Marine Rescue and asked to borrow a rope. They tied a knot in it so i could put it around a tree to climb down. Walked back to the spot. Rigged it up and was ready to climb down as a German backpacker walked past and he offered to climb down and get my bag. He puts his bag down and his almost rolled down too. He managed to get my bag. Walked the rope back to Marine Rescue. All this added extra kms onto my walk but i paused my app so they weren't included. Finally, about 3:30pm i started the remaining 10km walk and arrived at Manly just before 7. 15kms done in 4 1/2 hours. Now to get the Manly Ferry back to the Quay and a train home.

Day 2 and walked 2.8kms
