Support my challenge to fight pancreatic cancer
On the 20th May 2011 I stood on the summit of Mt Everest and in doing so became the 1st Breast cancer survivor in the world and 9th Australian female to achieve such an incredible feat..
Above all I released cuttings from father’s hair on the summit whilst he was fighting Pancreatic cancer back home.
His love and support gave me the extra push I needed to reach the top.
Dad passed away the day after my 40th birthday that same year and even though he was unresponsive in pallative care he fought till the end.
Forever my hero.
This September, I'm walking 225km for the 75 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.
Pancreatic cancer is now the 3rd biggest cancer killer in Australia, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.
If you are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer tomorrow, there is only a 13% chance you'll be alive in 5 years.
But research can change this. Your support will fund ground-breaking pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.
So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 225km to fight this terrible disease.
Please make a donation to support me, and together...
We will remember them. We will honour them. We will fight for them.
