I'm Moving It this September!
This September, I'm walking 136km for the 68 Australians who die from pancreatic cancer each week.
The last time i spoke to my brother was December 2020. At the age of 55 he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and at the age of 57 he lost his battle.
Gary had gone from being a Touch Football National Champion, doing triathlons and running marathons to being a shell of himself unable to get out bed unaided in the last couple of months of his life. It is such a cruel disease.
Pancreatic cancer is now the 3rd biggest cancer killer of Australians, and because early-stage pancreatic cancer rarely causes symptoms, the survival rates are devastating.
If you are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer tomorrow, there is only an 12.2% chance you'll be alive in 5 years.
But research can change this. Your support will fund life-saving pancreatic cancer research and improve survival rates.
So this September, I'm challenging myself to get up, get moving and walk 136km.

Hi Tracy, I only knew Gary for a short time on the Sunshine Coast as we golfed together occasionally and he was passionate about his triathlon competitions. I know he will be very proud of you undertaking this walk in his memory.
